Just a reminder that the closing date for entries is 19/05/12 , this is the Jubilee weekend and there will be a large TV in the marquee for viewing the celebrations. There are also events taking place in South Stoke on the Monday with a Party on the Rec, Music and Mini- Olympics. The committee looks forward to seeing you there.

5-Clubs Quiz, Fitting Out Lunch.
It was a busy weekend for the Club with two events over Saturday and Sunday, the 5 Clubs Quiz at Windsor Yacht Club was well attended by 13 clubs members who formed 2 teams and managed a respectable 2nd place and a not so respectable nearer the bottom place! Congratulations to Upper Thames YC whose 2 teams took joint first place and now have the honour of hosting next year’s event.
The Fitting Out lunch was held on Sunday at the Goring and Streatley Golf club with excellent food and service from the staff there. For the first time in many years we had an after dinner speaker, Ian Kirby an ex-Concorde Flight Engineer gave a fascinating talk about Concorde despite attending on his 45 wedding anniversary, many thanks to Ian and his wife for giving up their Sunday to entertain us. The afternoon was finished off with the raffle.
The next event is the informal lunch at the Four Pillars Abingdon, we look forward to seeing you there.
Benson Lock to re-open early.
Those members moored above Benson lock will be pleased to hear that the EA are ahead of schedule and the lock will re-open at 09:00 on March 10th.
ODCC Photographic Competition 2012.
The theme of this year’s ODCC photographic competition is “The Olympic Year on the River”. Judging the photos will be last years winner Ian Fitzpatrick, good luck everybody.

Provisional information about navigation of the Bray to Boveney Stretch during the Olympics has been released, see here; MAP Note: this is currently only an indication of plans and is not final, the one way system around Queens Eyot near the entrance to Bray marina may change.
Waverley Steamer Saved.
As many of you may know the Steam Ship Waverley was at risk next year due to lack of funds, the Commodores 2012 cruise is planned to take place on the Waverley, fortunately a Lottery winner has pledged funds to keep it steaming next year, see story here: Waverley Steamer Saved
